Fence Restoration Project

The cemetery's decorative steel fence and gates that lines the cemetery on Lake Street and Cedar Avenue are in desperate need of repair. Built in 1928, the fence is the cemetery's best protection against vandalism. The rehabilitation of the fence is estimated to cost $1.4 million. To date, the project has secured over $900,000 through grants, city capital improvement dollars, and donations. Friends of the Cemetery has set a goal of raising $100,000 in private donations for the fence restoration project. To date, we have raised over $30,000. Hundreds of people and organizations have contributed through the Adopt-A-Picket fundraiser.
